Baby 'E' {Niagara Newborn Photography}

Meet 8-day-old baby 'E'...a very sweet little guy! 

I LOVE when I have the opportunity to use new little hats or blankets or wraps, and working with baby 'E' was perfect for this because Mommy does ALL kinds of knitting (you can find her etsy shop here ).

Big brother 'J' was super excited to have his picture taken when it was only him...though he was quick to run away when we tried to get some of him with his new baby brother :)  It was only 18 or so months ago that I was at their place doing 'J's newborn session...how time flies!!

The te Sligte Family {Niagara Family Photographer}

I'm a bit behind in posting photos from my last family session...but here they are! 

The te Sligte family drove down from Peterborough (not just for the session!) but we jumped right into it as soon as they got here (that's a 3.5 or so hour drive) and everyone did amazing!  I was pleasantly surprised by how HAPPY the kids were and how much fun they were having!  I thought for sure they'd just be pooped and wouldn't be very keen on doing photos.  But I was wrong! :)

I love these kids...they're some of the sweetest bunch I know!

Baby 'E' {Niagara Newborn Photography}

I recently met 10-day-old baby 'E' from Cambridge who was a little doll!  I was SO excited to have a little girl to photograph since it's been a long time since the last one... I was just dying to use these pretty little headbands I had recently ordered! :)
We had the temperature in the house set really warm so she'd be happy being unclothed...amazingly, she still felt cool to the touch while her mommy and I were sweating buckets (well, at least I was!)  But she was happy (for the most part) and that's what matters! :)
Congratulations again J & A on your little princess!! :)

Waiting for Baby {Niagara Maternity Photographer}

This was a very special maternity session for two reasons...Angela and I have been friends since we were 5 years old...a long long time! :)  I have many wonderful memories of our childhood together...including playing 'house' where I ALWAYS had a baby girl and she ALWAYS had a baby boy (and sometimes, we used my cat as one of our babies).  (Who knew 25 years later, I would have a boy and her little girl would be on her way!!)

The second reason this was special to me was that she had asked me about 15 or so months ago if I would do her maternity photos as she was nearing the 5 month mark.  But suddenly oneday, Vic and Angela lost their first precious baby girl.  When we had just spoken about doing maternity photos, now we were suddenly seeing each other at the funeral of their daughter, Ellarie Violet.

Now baby girl #2 is on her way, and though it's been a long hard road for them with the grief from losing their first baby and the anxieties that would come with a pregnancy following something like that, her due date is just around the corner!  Anytime now, they'll be starting an amazing life with their sweet baby girl!! 

Ang and Vic, I'm SO excited for both of you and felt completely honoured that you asked me to capture this special time for you! :)  You're going to make such wonderful parents!!

Sweet Baby 'C' {Niagara Newborn Photographer}

I met 11-day-old baby 'C' a couple of weeks ago and had such a great time photographing this family.  Their home was perfect for this with the floor to ceiling windows, and I joked about bringing other clients by for their photo sessions...it was perfect! 
You'd never know by the following pictures that we were trying hard to get baby C to sleep for the first little while...but once he fell asleep, he was out and did such a great job!  I also knew (from having met this couple once about 4 or 5 years ago) that photographing this mom would be super easy...she's just gorgeous!

A Busy Busy Girl {Niagara Child Photography}

Sweet little 'E' made me work hard for her 9 month photoshoot!  The only way I could her to hold still was by sticking her in a basket!  :)  She was SO eager to explore everything that was around us (including my camera)...as soon as I'd sit her down on the floor, she was crawling away before I could even blink!  I had forgotten how tricky this age can be to photograph! :)
But here she is (in a basket) looking so incredibly sweet...what a little pumpkin she is!
